    Do we move your furniture?

Hey y'all, Richard Cavazos here at FAQ Friday for you. So one of the most commonly asked questions that we have from our customers is if we move furniture and the answer is yes. So it's a two way street, we do have some requirements. Anything that requires two people to move, we will definitely help you with beds, dressers, and tables, you name it. The electronics, the breakables, the linens, the little things, the toys, the shoes off the floors, all that has to be boxed up, cleared out, out of the way for us. So for us to do an efficient job, we wanna focus on the installation and not necessarily moving all your furniture. But we'll make it work. Once we walk the job with you, we'll show you exactly what we expect and what we do as well. So hope that answers your question and we'll see you next time.

Can we create custom niches for your shower?

So today's question is, can we get a custom niche in our shower? The answer is yes. So a lot of the jobs that we do when we come in and do the bathroom remodeling, once we knock out the walls, the framing will dictate what we can or can't do or what's behind the walls. But a lot of times people think they can only get a certain size niche and that's not the case. We can customize and we can reframe the walls themselves to give you a custom look or modern look niche. So that way you have certain shampoo bottles that fit or maybe you have larger ones or if you want somewhat of a slicker, simpler look, anything's possible, what I tell my customers. So you're not just limited to 1 option. We want it to be customized to your liking, a lot of it depending on the tile that you pick as well. So the answer is yes, we can customize your bathroom so that way at the end of the day you're happy with the results.

Do you have to source your own plumber?

So one of the questions I get asked all the time is do we have to source our own plumbers? And the answer is no, because we've got you covered. We partner with some of the best trades in the industry. So if you're doing a bathroom remodel or if we're coming in and doing a floor renovation that requires a plumber to come in, we got you covered. We will coordinate, we will schedule, make sure everything's done at the end of the day. That way you don't have to worry about calling 5 different people. So, if you're looking to get your bath redone, looking for someone that can handle it from start to finish, give us a call. We got you covered.

How do you maintain your carpet?

Today we're talking about carpets and the importance of cleaning your carpet. So although most carpets have a lifetime stain warranty, we still want to make sure they're maintained, right? The obvious is getting stains out, getting the odors out. But if you let carpets kind of sit for months or years without cleaning, all the dirt, all the dust can act like sandpaper and ruin the fiber and start creating kind of wear patterns. So it's super important to get your carpets clean at the very least every 18 months to 24 months. We like to partner with companies like Alamo Steam Team. They do a hot water extraction, truck mounted system. They come in and can refresh your carpets. Much like getting the oil changed in your car to extend the life of your car, you want to make sure you get your carpets clean. If you have any questions, drop us a message down below. We'll be more than happy to help you with any of your cleaning carpet questions.

How do you maintain your floors?

So, you just got your floors installed. Now, the biggest question I always get asked is, how do I maintain them? The good news is, it doesn't take a lot. You can do a light damp mop, you can just do your Swiffers, you can do your Push Brooms, your Dust Mops. What you want to stay away from is anything that's acidic in nature, any bleaching agents, any oils. Make sure you don't apply any of that to these floors. These are all urethane based products. Typically, we'll use a product like Bona, which is a water-based flooring cleaner that's very safe to use on any floor. So, if you have any questions on how you can clean your floors today, give us a call at Pride Floors.

Can you lay your hardwood floors over existing tile?

One of the things I get asked all the time is, if you can lay your luxury vinyl planks over existing tile floors. And the answer is yes. So you do wanna make sure that your tile's still solid, not loose, not cracked. We wanna make sure that we fill in all the grout lines still and make sure it's nice and smooth and level. But the biggest advantage to the homeowner number 1 is you're not going to have to demo all the floor and save all the money and all the expense and all the dirt and dust that potentially can come with that. Right. So if you want to buy new floors and you have existing tile, we can definitely get that done for you. So if you have any questions give us a call, drop us a message. We look forward to helping you out.

How would long planks look in your home?

Long planks. Can you do them in your home? Absolutely. If you have large open floor plans, open spaces, this is a great product to do. These six-foot long planks are ideal to minimize the linear look, the lines, the busyness of what a wood floor can look like potentially. In this particular house that we're about to start at the Dominion. It's gonna look amazing. If you do have questions on the different sizes of wood planks that we have to offer, come to our showroom and we can definitely help you with any of those questions we have. We truly appreciate your business.

Can we do floors without a transition with tile?

So for your FAQ question of the week, I get asked all the time if we can do wood floors without any transitions up along tiles. And for the most part, the answer is yes. A lot of times it'll be dependent on the existing tile conditions, But if you have a quality minded installer that's capable of doing any type of customization with your existing conditions like we do, we can definitely help you. So if you have any questions with any of your transition areas, give us a call. Pride Floors.

How do I know what grout to choose for my floors?

Grout and the importance of picking out the right grout. So a lot of times the questions I get asked is number one, what color should I use? Well, that's personal preference. A lot of times we just recommend you picking a grout that ties in really well with the tile. The other thing would be is making sure you get a grout that's good, that's sealed already, that you don't have to maintain as much. So there's a lot of different qualities of grout out there. We love to help you make an informed, educated decision. So if you have any questions, feel free to give us a call.

Do we do commercial style or grade flooring?

So we get asked a lot if we do commercial style or grade flooring and we do. This is what we call an LVT floor, which is a glue down product that is ideal for any high traffic areas such as this particular space here. It's a bridal shop that we're working on. The biggest benefits to these are that they're going to be easy to repair and replace. You know areas that have a lot of wear and tear, if they get damaged, you want something that's easily replaceable. So we use a pressure sensitive adhesive for these particular planks. Again, high traffic areas, these luxury vinyl tiles or planks are definitely the best option. So if you have any commercial projects you need help with, give us a call. We're your guys.

Is SPC flooring a good option for your home?

So I get asked all the time, is an SPC floor great for my home? Well, the answer is yes. There's big benefits to the SPC floors unlike the WPC floors that are a little softer, but there's advantages and disadvantages of both. So if you have any questions for any of your flooring needs, give us a call. We're here to help you.

    Will underlayment affect your flooring?

Plastic, what we call underlayment, which goes under your flooring. A lot of times people ask me if this has any bearing as to what your floors will feel like. Well, the answer is no. This is simply a moisture barrier. The flooring itself is what's going to dictate how hard it feels, how soft it feels, how cold it feels, how warm it feels. So obviously if you have any questions, give us a call. We can definitely answer any of your underlayment questions or flooring questions.

What are my pet friendly carpet options?

Stain proof carpet. A lot of people ask me, can I put new carpet if I've got pets in my house? And the answer is yes. Most of these carpets like this Godfrey Hirst product that we've got here are great for pets. They have warranties against pet accidents such as vomit, poop and pee. So if you have pets and you want carpet, you definitely can look at some of our options here at our store. Give us a call if we can help you.

How does sapwood affect the aesthetics of your flooring?

I get asked all the time is what is the deal with these white stripes and some of these wood floors that we put down? Not all wood floors have them, but what it is, it's sapwood. And the sapwood is naturally found on the outer part of a tree just beneath the bark and typically that will take a stain lighter. So it's a natural characteristic of the floor. It's not something you find in every wood but some of the brands will carry it because some people like that uniqueness, that little variance that it has. So I personally like it. It's a very beautiful floor. Just let me know if you have any questions when it comes to the characteristics or the aesthetics of the wood floor. We're here to help.

How do we keep your floors protected during renovation?

Do you know what this is for? No, we don't cover your floors for the big reveal at the end of the project. We cover them to protect them. We love to use products like this, this ram board. It costs a little extra towards the end of the job for us to do it, but it helps protect your investment. So, does it make sense to spend thousands of dollars on your flooring and not have it protected? Because in new construction sites a lot of times you'll have other trades that come in after us. So this is just something that we like to do to make sure we protect your floors. So of course if you have any questions give us a call. Pride Floors.

What kind of warranties do most wood floors carry?

So I get asked all the time what kind of warranties do most wood floors carry and most of them will have a lifetime structure warranty with a 25 to 50 year finish warranty. So what does that mean? The flooring itself structurally is going to be sound for the life of the floor. So it's never going to delaminate, crackle or peel let's say. And as far as the finish in regards to your traffic patterns you won't see any type of wear on the flooring in regards to the finish. So if you have any questions, if you're looking for flooring that'll last a lifetime give us a call here at Pride Floors.
