Here's how it goes: our crew moves the big furniture for you — anything that takes two people to lift — and we ask y'all to box up the small stuff ahead of time. When we pull out the old carpet, we almost always recommend replacing the pad, because old pad is compressed and may have absorbed spills or pet accidents. Fresh pad protects your warranty, feels better underfoot, and helps the carpet last longer. If we're working around hard-surface floors that are staying, we cover them with ram board so all that in-and-out doesn't beat up what you already have.

Picking the right carpet is really about how y'all live. If you've got pets or kids, we lean toward brands like Stainmaster or Godfrey Hirst that come with real warranties against stains and pet accidents. For high-traffic areas — hallways, stairs, family rooms — a denser, lower-pile nylon or a solution-dyed product holds up best. For bedrooms, you can go plusher and softer because the traffic's lighter. Color and pattern are personal, but the fiber, density, and pad are what actually determine how long your carpet holds up. Care on carpet is simple, and it matters. Vacuum regular so the grit doesn't get down into the fibers and act like sandpaper. Address spills right away with a clean cloth — blot, don't scrub. And get a professional hot-water extraction every 18 to 24 months at a minimum.
